Keeping in line with the whole nations celebrations, OCDC celebrated the 73rd Independence Day to commemorate the declaration of the sovereignty from the British rule in 1948, with the participation of Acting Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Senior Officers, Permanent Staff and all the Student Officers.
The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Acting Commandant and then a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to our fallen heroes. Next, the Independence Day message of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army was read by the GSO 2. The short yet proud celebration was enlightened with the address highlighting the significance of the Independence Day by the Acting Commandant. Later, a tree planting ceremony was held inside the premises and all Officers and Other Ranks were facilitated to witness the HE the President$s address to the nation and also the Independence Day Parade.
