OCDC celebrated the 72nd Independence Day, in commemoration of the independence gained from the British rule in 1948 with the participation of Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Senior Officers, Permanent Staff and all the Student Officers.
The event began with a tree planting ceremony in front of the OCDC- HQ building. Thereafter, a flag hoisting ceremony was held and a message by the Chief of the Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army was read by the Adjutant of OCDC. In addition to that, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the Sri Lankan heroes.
