OCDC marks the 71st anniversary of Sri Lanka Army with the participation of the Commandant of the Officer Career Development Centre Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Deputy Commandant Brigadier G M N Perera RWP RSP USP, the Chief Instructor Colonel TCMGST Cooray RWP RSP USP psc, Senior Instructors, Directing Staff, Permanent Staff and all Other Ranks.
The event began with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Commandant, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, in front of the main auditorium and immediately after the flag hoisting, the Army song was proudly sung by everyone present, adding grandeur and patriotic sentiments to the occasion. Afterwards, the message by the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army was read by the GSO II of OCDC. In addition to that, a two-minute silence was observed in remembrance of all Sri Lankan fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for safeguarding the motherland.
The event culminated with the patronage of the Commandant and all these events were followed by highly adhering to the precautionary measures adopted to avoid the spreading of COVID 19.
