Brigadier K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, 6th Commandant of OCDC assumed duties this morning (16 September 2019), during a simple ceremony amidst religious observances.
The first segment of the ceremony began with the review of the Guard Turnout at the entrance of OCDC and later, Brigadier K J Jayaweera, the newly appointed Commandant participated in all ranks tea which was arranged at the Cafeteria of OCDC premises.
Amidst religious observances, the new Commandant, placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of the office at the auspicious minute. The Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, CO and several other Officers were also present at the occasion.
Soon after tea, the Commandant addressed the troops where he spelt out his vision and the day’s programme culminated.
