JUNIOR COMMAND COURSE 35 CONCLUDES EXERCISE WIPE OFF

The Army War College (AWC) has successfully conducted Exercise Wipe Off, a key field training exercise in the academic calendar of Junior Command Course (JCC) 35, achieving its main objectives starting from 28 February 2026 to 4 March 2026. This Exercise strengthens the efforts of AWC to equip middle grade Officers with the practical application of knowledge and skills necessary for effective command and staff responsibilities.

Relatively, the Exercise Wipe Off is basically, an intensive field training exercise where the Student Officers actively taking part with adequate interest by engaging in offensive operations under conventional war fighting scenario which has been designed to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical application. The 92 participants, including two international Officers one each from Bangladesh and Pakistan, honed their knowledge under offensive operation. Key areas of focus included Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (IPOE), mission analysis, factor evaluation, consideration of Courses of Action and development of the plan. The Commandant, having supervised the exercise being carried out, emphasized the importance of practical understanding of manoeuvre tactics, fire support coordination, logistic planning and Command and Control (C2) arrangements.

Operating in a structured yet demanding environment, the Student Officers were also trained to demonstrate analytical precision, clarity of thought, and decisive leadership under pressure. The exercise also included ground reconnaissance and Tactical Exercises Without Troops (TEWT), allowing Student Officers to validate plans against actual terrain features.
