AWC TROOPS HONOURED THE NEWLY PROMOTED TWO STAR GENERAL

The newly promoted senior officer, the Commandant of the Army War College (AWC), Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc was honoured with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour by the troops on 24th May 2023 at the AWC, Buttala.

Major General Manada Yahampath warmly welcomed by the Deputy Commandant Brigadier MCSK Senaratne RWP RSP on his arrival to the AWC and troops bestowed with Guard Turnout to the newly promoted Commandant at the main entrance. Then, Major General Manada Yahampath took salute of the Guard of Honour in conformity with the military traditions.

To mark this memorable occasion, Major General Manada Yahampath planted a sapling before he addresses a gathering of all officers and other ranks serving in the AWC.

During the address, he conveyed his gratitude and thanks to all his seniors guided him to achieve this important milestone in his life. Further, he thanked all staff of the AWC for the day’s arrangements.

Then, all ranks Tea party was held and the Chief Guest was greeted by all Officers and Other Ranks.

Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Senior Officers, Officers & Other Ranks were present at the brief ceremony.
