AWC DINERS’ CLUB INSTILLS THE FUTURE LEADERS ON PERSPECTIVES ON RESILIENCE FOR MILITARY READINESS AND PREPARATION

The Diners' Club of the first trimester 2024 was held at the Army War College on 9 March 2024 with the participation of the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, members of the faculty and members of the permanent staff together with 113 Student Officers of the Senior Command Course – 10, Junior Command Course – 29 and Junior Staff Course - 25 including four foreign officers from friendly foreign countries, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Zambia.

On the invitation of the Army War College, the Director of Research Concept and Doctrine of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier PCL Gunawardana RWP RSP psc participated as the Guest Speaker in the Diners' Club and he was warmly welcomed by the Commandant Army War College, Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc on his arrival. Gracing the occasion as the Guest Speaker of the Diners' Club, he delivered an eloquent speech that enlightened the audience on 'Perspectives on Resilience for Military Readiness and Preparation'. All participants were inspired by the speech in which the speaker shared his expertise, knowledge and experience on the subject. Further, he underlined the aspects on resilience and factors which would essentially be grown for ensuring the cohesive components to build up the military readiness.

The questions and answers session fittingly facilitated the student officers to get their doubts clarified where the enthusiastic participants actively interacted with the speaker thus going through the traditions of the Diners’ Club event. In appreciation of the intellectual assistance to the Army War College, the Commandant presented a memento to the Guest Speaker.
