ARMY WAR COLLEGE STUDENT OFFICERS VISITED SACRED CITY OF KATARAGAMA

Student Officers following the courses in the last trimester of the Army War College (AWC) visited Kataragama on 19 October 2024 during the Exercise God King organized as an event in the course curriculum

Continuing with the long-standing practice of the AWC, Student Officers of each trimester organise the event to bring the mental relaxation by breaking the monotony through which they develop the insight of religious significance of the place, and identify the historical background about one of the most famous local and foreign tourist destinations. Specially, the Student Offices of the Senior Command Course develop the organising and managerial capabilities through this effort

All Student Officers of the third trimester, faculty members and the administrative staff members together with Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Directing Staff and all the participants worshipped sacred ‘Kiriwehera’ and visited the ancient ‘Kataragama Devalaya

As a motive of enhancing organizing skills and event management capabilities, AWC organizes these extracurricular activities to meet the exposure of the Student Offices in different capacities. Altogether, 123 Student Officers belong to Senior Command Course (SCC 12), Junior Command Course (JCC 31) and Junior Staff Course (JSC 27) took part in the visit with the members of the faculty and administrative staff and the members of the Administrative Staff
