Army War College invoked blessings of Esala Poya Day Bodhi Pooja

As per the directions given by the Commandant, the troops of the Army War College (AWC) organized a Bodhi Pooja Session on the eve of the Esala Poya day on 01 August 2023. Bodhi Pooja session was conducted by Rev Madamagama Sugatharathana thero of Bauddaloka Maha Pirivena, Butttala and blessed all ranks of the institution.

Brigadier U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant AWC, Deputy Commandant, senior officers and student officers of all three courses attended the Bodhi Pooja session held at the temple premises of AWC and invoked blessings of the noble triple gems.

Esala poya assumes prominence for yet another ritual of the Sri Lankan Buddhists where the annual rains retreat of the monks, 'Vas', commences on the day following the Esala full moon.
