ARMY WAR COLLEGE HOLDS THE GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Graduation Ceremony of Army War College (AWC) Buttala for the third trimester 2023 was held on 05 December 2023 at the AWC Auditorium.

A total of 86 officers comprising of 29 Student Officers of Senior Command Course (SCC) No 09 and 57 Student Officers of Junior Command Course (JCC) No 28 upon the successful completion of respective courses, received the graduation from Major General UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant AWC who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Student Officers who have shown exceptional academic excellence and secured the first, second and third places in order of merit in each course, received the awards and certificates from the Chief Guest.

First in order of merit - Major WAGA Ariyarathne psc Isc MIC

Second in order of merit - Major RMLA Rathnayake USP psc SLE

Third in order of merit - Major ASA Jayaweera USP psc SLE

First in order of merit - Major RANC Gunawardhana SLE

Second in order merit - Major SHG Fernando CR

Third in order of merit -Major MDD Perera SLEME

The Deputy Commandant, Brigadier BPPGK Balasooriya RSP psc and the Chief Instructor, Colonel MDSN Karunarathne psc gave away the certificates to the participants of the courses.

Towards the end of Graduation Ceremony, the Commandant conveyed his warm wishes to all newly graduated officers while delivering the ‘Graduation Speech’ and inspired them to take over future challenges in the service. Further, he also urged them to continue learning and further elevate their standards as professional officers of a constantly developing army. All faculty members and permanent staff attended the elegant function that is customarily held thrice a year.
