ARMY WAR COLLEGE HOLDS THE GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Graduation Ceremony of Army War College (AWC) Buttala for the second trimester 2023 was held on 11 August 2023 at the AWC Auditorium. A total of 109 officers comprising of 26 student officers of Senior Command Course No. 08, A number of 59 student officers of Junior Command Course No. 24 and 24 student officers of Junior Staff Course 24, on successful completion of respective courses, received the graduation from Brigadier UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant AWC who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Student Officers who have shown exceptional academic excellence and secured the first, second and third places in order of merit in each course, received the awards and certificates from the Chief Guest.

The Deputy Commandant, Brigadier BPPGK Balasooriya RSP psc and the Chief Instructor, Brigadier SP Wickramasekara RWP RSP USP psc gave away the certificates to the participants of the courses. Towards the end of Graduation Ceremony, the Commandant conveyed his warm wishes to all newly graduated officers while delivering the ‘Graduation Speech’ and inspired them to take over future challenges in the service. Further, he also urged them to continue learning and further elevate their standards as professional officers of a constantly developing army. All faculty members and permanent staff attended the elegant function that is customarily held thrice a year.
