ARMY WAR COLLEGE CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Army War College, the highest establishment of military training, Army War College celebrated its first anniversary on Tuesday 06 Dec 2022 giving prominence to both religious observances and military formalities.

To coincide with the celebration programme of the anniversary on Sunday 04 Dec, an all-night ‘Pirith Chanting’ followed by ‘Heela Dana’ (alms giving) was held on Monday 05 December, where Mahasanga blessed all staff members serving in the AWC as well as transferred merits to all the war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice on behalf of the county.

On Tuesday 06 Dec 2022, troops accorded a guard turn out to Brigadier YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc. The Commandant planted a sapling of ‘Bael’ in the AWC premises as a token of memory and addressed the troops subsequently. The anniversary celebration also included with all rank lunch. Programme was brought to an end with musical event held in the same evening.
