The closing address and the awarding of certifications to the students of the Advanced Certificate in Applied Modern Information and Communication Technology for Signal Young Officers No- 19 was conducted on 14 October 2022. The course was continued throughout 54 days with the aim to train and develop Signal young officers professionally on information and communication technology while grooming them with proper regimentation in order to employ them in the prestigious appointments of Signal Squadron Commander, Adjutant, Troop Commander or the project Officer which is considered as the best experience as a Junior Officer.
Captain GBHP Gamlath secured the first place of the course while Captain DSPT Lakshiha and Captain PM Gunasena became the second and third in order of merit respectively.
Subsequently a glamorous dinner night was held at the Officers’ Mess of 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Director Information Technology, Brigadier GLSW Liyanage USP psc graced the event as the Chief Guest accepting the invitation made by the Commandant School of Signals Colonel BD Fernando USP psc

The Director of Information Technology on his address to the gathering brought out the importance of Signal YOs’ and congratulated the young officers for completing the course successfully whilst highlighting the importance of maintaining the highest standards in military professionalism and reminded events like this Dinner Nights are valuable for Signal young officers on practicing traditional military customs and values.
