Troops under the Security Force Headquarters (Central), belonging to the 11 Infantry Division Area of Responsibility, including 111 Infantry Brigade, 112 Infantry Brigade, 641 Infantry Brigade, 642 Infantry Brigade, and units under the Division Headquarters, troops were deployed from 26 November 2025 to 27 November 2025.
A total number of 19 x 243 Army troops were committed, as requested by the District Disaster Management Centre, to the following areas disaster situations. The troops assisted in rescuing displaced persons, restoring road access blocked due to earth slips and searching for missing persons caused by landslides.
In the districts of Kandy and Badulla, troops were engaged in disaster-relief operations in the areas of Ambewela, Ruppaha, Udadumbara, Kandagolla, Passara, Kandakettya, Pathahewahata, Soranathota, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, and Teldeniya.
Due to the prevailing disaster situations, troops coordinated closely with the respective District Disaster Management Offices to provide the necessary assistance in restoring normalcy to the lives of affected residents.
