With the aim of developing the ability of individuals, teams and units to function cohesively while building upon individual and team skills to achieve higher level of proficiency and maintain operational readiness of infantry battalions, 3rd Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guards was launched for battalion training at ATS Maduruoya on 18th of Jan 2025. The whole training was conducted under the supervision of the Commandant of Battalion training school, Colonel RMS Ratnayake RSP with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 12 infantry division, Major General WSN Hemarathne RWP RSP psc. Training included individual and collective military skill development execrsises, improving self-confidence and personal leadership skills, development of teamwork, improving of physical and mental strength, firing and battle craft training covering 320 periods over 40 working days. The battalion was able to secure an “A” grade while scoring overall average of 78.74%.
