NEW HOME FOR LOW INCOME FAMILY IN UDISPATTHUWA COMPLETED BY 5 SLLI TROOPS

Under the guidance of Major General K.A.U. Kodituwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division, a new house was built by the troops of the 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) for a low-income family in Udispatthuwa.

The house was officially vested in the beneficiary on 12 November 2024 by Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Force Headquarters (Central). The family was also presented with gifts.

Following the ceremony, Commander, Security Force Headquarters (Central) visited the 5 SLLI. During the visit, the Commanding Officer briefed the Senior Officer on the unit’s operational responsibilities. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the unit’s tasks. Afterwards, the visiting Senior Officer planted a sapling on the premises.

In his address to the Officers, the Commander delivered an inspiring speech, emphasising the importance of the Army’s mission and the continued commitment to serving the nation. The visit concluded with a group photograph and marking complementary remarks in the visitors’ book.
