Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG of Sri Lanka Artillery assumed office as the new Commander, Security Forces - Central (SF - Cen) on 28 June 2024 amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Security Force Headquarters Central in Diyathalawa.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout, presented to the new Commander, SF - Cen at the main entrance on his arrival. Subsequently, he was invited to review the Guard of Honour presented by 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
Afterwards, the newly-appointed Commander, SF - Cen left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha. The occasion was marked by the planting of a sapling in the SFHQ-Cen premises.
Thereafter, newly appointed Commander, SF - Cen addressed the troops before he attended a formal All Rank Tea. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the events.
