In coincide with the Sinhala Hindu New Year – 2025, Viru Kekulu pre-school Diyathalawa organized the ‘Singithi Awurudu Ulela’, giving pride of place to the activities of the children in accordance with age-old traditions at the pre-school ground at Diyathalawa on 07 April 2025.
The senior member in charge of the 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school Diyathalawa, Mrs. Damayanthi Bandaranayake, the spouse of Major General Nalin Bandaranayake USP, the Commander Security Forces (Central), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Upon the arrival of Mrs. Damayanthi Bandaranayake, accompanied by the Commander Security Forces (Central) were warmly welcomed by the pre - school kids, offering a traditional sheaf of betel along with members of the administrative and teaching staff. After the traditional opening of the ‘Singithi Awrudu Ulela’, the guests were witnessed variety of colourful events and traditional games presented by pre-school children. The programme was successfully terminated with presenting of gifts by the Chief Guest and other invitees.
Major General Nalin Bandaranayake USP, the Commander, Security Forces (Central), several senior officers of Security Forces Headquarters (Central), pre-school staff, teachers and parents, attended the event.
