TAKING OVER DUTIES BY THE COMMANDING OFFICER

Major OKK Gunaratne RWP RSP USP psc officially assumed duties as the 8th Commanding Officer of the 23rd Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on the auspicious day of 07 July 2025.

To mark this occasion, a series of military formalities were conducted in accordance with army traditions. These included a ceremonial Guard Turnout by the troops, planting of a tree sapling, a group photograph, an address to the troops by the new Commanding Officer. Later Commanding officer interacted with the Officers and Other Ranks during the all ranks tea. Officers, Other Ranks and civil workers of 23rd Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment took part in the event.
