Due to the adverse weather conditions experienced across the country in recent days, troops under the Security Forces (Central) 11 Infantry Division Area of Responsibility of the 111 Infantry Brigade conducted rapid cleaning and purification operations at water treatment plants in Katugastota and Dangolla areas in the Kandy District, which were obstructed by debris as a result of flooding.
These operations were carried out on 29 and 30 November 2025, with the participation of a 01 x 25 troops from the 22nd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Additionally, a contingent of 01 x 12 troops from 5 (V) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, operating under the same Area of Responsibility, assisted the Road Development Authority in restoring a 2 km stretch of the Mahanuwara–Badulla Road from Adikarigama that had been blocked. Restoration work was carried out on 01 December 2025.
Furthermore, due to the island-wide adverse weather situation, a team of 01 x 10 troops from the 1 Sri Lanka Rifle corps, under the Area of Responsibility of the 641 Infantry Brigade in Matale District, assisted in safely relocating 33 elderly persons affected and displaced by a disaster situation in the Nagalawatta area on 30 November 2025.
