Troops of the 12 Infantry Division removed trees at Wellassa National School in Bibile on 28 June 2024, since the trees posed a significant danger to the safety of the school children.
The task was conducted under the guidance of GOC 12 Infantry Division as per the request made by the Divisional Secretary of Bibile.
The prompt and efficient action of the troops prevented potential risks to the school environment ensuring the safety of 116 staff members and 2204 students. As a result, school activates were able to resume without disruption following the completion of the task. The principle along with teachers and parents appreciated the task undertaken by the Army.
