Aiming to bolster the efficiency of search and rescue operations during natural disasters in the Badulla district, a comprehensive Disaster Management Training Workshop was held at the 112 Infantry Brigade Headquarters from March 3 to March 6, 2026.
The program was initiated based on a concept by Brigadier BADNK Bulathsinhala RWP RSP USP psc, Commander of the 112 Infantry Brigade. The primary objective was to equip military personnel with advanced knowledge and practical skills required to handle emergency situations effectively
A total of 150 personnel 02 x 75 from the brigade participated in the intensive four-day session. The workshop featured a blend of theoretical lectures and field-based practical exercises to simulate real-world disaster scenarios. Expert instructors and officials from various government institutions also participated, providing specialized insights and enhancing the inter-agency coordination necessary for disaster response
By conducting such training, the 112 Infantry Brigade ensures that its members are well-prepared to act as first responders, safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens in the region during times of crisis.
