10 GR Builds New House for Needy Family

Under the guidance of Major General K.A.U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding of 11 Infantry Division, the troops of the 10 Gajaba Regiment (GR) built a new house for a low-income family in Panvila, Kandy.

This housing project received full financial contributions from Haguranketha Dammarakkitha Maha Thero, Chief Incumbent of Suduhumpola Raja Maha Viharaya, Diyawadana Nilame of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, and the Basnayaka Nilame of Wishnu Dewalaya.

Construction work of the house began on 24 June 2024, with workforce assistance provided by the 10 GR troops under the supervision of Major N.K Weerathunga, Commanding Officer of the 10 GR. The house was officially vested in the beneficiary on 11 November 2024 by Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Central).

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and residents in the area were among participants in the warming ceremony.
