New Tennis Court and Calisthenics Park at Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre was Declared Open

Fulfilling the long term requirement of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Centre the newly constructed Tennis Court and Calisthenics Park was declared open on Tuesday (29 October) by the Major General W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP, Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Commander 21 Infantry Division on the invitation of the Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre.The Tennis Court and Calisthenic Park constructed with the guidance and supervision of the Centre Commandant which fully focused to enhance sportsmanship and physical agility and power and create healthy lifestyle among Mechanized Infantry Officers and Other Ranks.The Chief Guest unveiled a plaque and opened the court symbolically, signalling the start for an exhibition match by the army tennis pool, prizes were also awarded to the players as appreciation for the support provided by the army tennis committee.Army Physical Training Instructors of Mechanized Infantry Regiment conducted live demonstrations to showcase essential calisthenics techniques and workouts at the opening of Calisthenic Park.
