"WILDERNESS", the newly constructed holiday home of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment in Dehippawa Welfare Resort was vested in the Mechanized Infantry family by Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army on 11 October 2025 in the invitation of Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment Major General A H A D Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc ptsc
This long felt need for members of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment consists of 6 luxury rooms with all modern furniture and facilities. The entire construction was completed by technically qualified own Mechanized Infantry troops and manpower utilizing regimental funds with the close supervision of Centre Commandant.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army on arrival was warmly welcomed by Major General A H A D Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc ptsc and, all officers and other ranks of Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
Unveiling of a plaque that speaks of the saga connected to its construction by the Chief Guest followed the ceremonial opening of the new holiday home. The Chief Guest and Senior Officers afterwards had a close look inside the new state-of-the art holiday home and saw the surroundings around.
