MECHANIZED INFANTRY BOXING TEAM SECURED 4TH PLACE IN INTER REGIMENT NOVICES BOXING TOURNAMENT

The Mechanized Infantry Boxing Team secured the 4th place in Inter Regiment Novices Boxing Tournament, which was held at the Army Gymnasium in Panagoda from 16 Feb 2025 to 22 Feb 2025 with the participations of 13 Regiments.

In the men's category, Mechanized Infantry earned 02 gold medals, 02 silver medals, 02 bronze medals and L/Cpl Herath HMNRK from 5 (V) MIR was able to secured the Best Boxer award in 46 - 48 Kg category.

The award winners are:

46 - 48 Kg - L/Cpl Herath HMNRK - 1st place (Best Boxer) - 5 (V) MIR

54 - 57 Kg - Infmn Jayaweera TJPP - 1st place - 3 MIR

51 - 54 Kg - Cpl Attanayake AMCR - 2nd place - 1 MIR

75 - 80 Kg - Infmn Kumara JAPN - 2nd place - 5 (V) MIR

57 - 60 Kg - Infmn Kumara WGAD - 3rd place - 4 MIR

71 - 75 Kg - L /Cpl Jayasekara JKMIP - 3rd place - 4 MIR
