The Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment , Major General A H A D Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc ptsc , marked the first official visit to 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment after assuming duties on 18 February 2025.
With all military formalities The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and all ranks of 2 MIR. Moreover, he was invited to mark the occasion by planting a sapling. Subsequently during the briefing of Commanding Officer , Colonel of the Regiment addressed both operational and administrative matters pertaining to the battalion and provided directions for the future development of the battalion.
Moreover Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops of 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment at Mechanized Infantry Training Centre.
The Deputy Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre and Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade also participated for the visit.
