ASSUMING DUTIES OF CO 1 MIR

Lt Col H G E Hapukotuwa USP assumed duties as the 11th Commanding Officer of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 29 March 2025. A formal ceremony was held to welcome the newly appointed Commanding Officer comprised with a Guard Turnout and ceremonial parade.

The Commanding Officer took over duties signing an official document amid religious observances, subsequently planted a sapling in the battalion premises to mark the assumption of duties and followed by a troop address. All Officers and Other Ranks of the battalion extended their warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer for a successful tenure.
