Lieutenant General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG Assumes Duties as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army

Lieutenant General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, has officially assumed duties as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. The ceremony of assuming of duties took place at the Army Headquarters in Sri Jayewardenepura, in the presence of Senior Military Officers, dignitaries, and other distinguished guests by following military formalities and religious blessings on Tuesday, 31 December 2024. The newly appointed Commander of Army, was warmly welcomed and accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honor by the troops of the Sri Lanka Artillery, in line with military traditions, upon his arrival at the premises.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, an esteemed Officer with 35 years of illustrious military career in the Sri Lanka Army, has taken helm as 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo having rendered service in Command, Instructional and Staff appointments during his tour of duty, brings wealth of experience. His leadership as Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery has been marked by excellence, and his devotion, commitment and dedication exhibited towards organization is testament for elevating him to the prestigious and senior most appointment of the Organization as the Commander of Sri Lanka Army.

This marks a new chapter in the history of the Sri Lanka Artillery as well as in Sri Lanka Army, under the leadership of Lieutenant General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, a proven leader dedicated to the security and well-being of Sri Lanka and its Armed Forces.
