NEW DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF ASSUMES OFFICE AT SRI LANKA ARMY HEADQUARTERS
Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG of the Sri Lanka Artillery officially assumed office as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, the third most senior position in the Army, during a formal ceremony held on Thursday, 28 November 2024, at the Army Headquarters. The ceremony was conducted in a simple yet significant manner, with blessings from religious leaders of all faiths. Senior officers, staff members of the DCOS office, and other ranks were present to witness the occasion.
In his new role, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo takes on the responsibilities associated with one of the Army's most prominent positions. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo served as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. Additionally, he continues to serve as the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, a role that underscores his extensive leadership experience within the Army.
With a distinguished career and a strong commitment to the welfare and development of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo's assumption of the role of Deputy Chief of Staff marks a new chapter in his illustrious service.
