HASH RUN OF ARMY WAR COLLEGE WRAPPED UP IN A CONVIVIAL ATMOSPHERE

The Army War College (AWC) conducted its second ‘Hash Run’ of the year 2025 on 2 August 2025. The event, associated with a mixture of athleticism and sociability, aimed to enhance physical strength and foster camaraderie among student officers of Senior Command Course 14, Junior Command Course 33, and Junior Staff Course 29.

The event that typically involves a run and walk through a scenic route along a village-bound 7.8km track near the college, commenced with the sign of lowering the checked flag by Major General P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, the Commandant of the Army War College who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commandant, accompanied by the Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, faculty members, and permanent staff, actively participated in the Hash Run with the student officers of all three courses. Refreshments were also provided along the route to keep participants energized.

After the completion of the run, all the Officers had an enjoyable after session, which encompassed with some entertaining events at the ‘Open Theater’ premises and the day’s proceedings terminated with giving away of prizes for the best performers.
