ARMY WAR COLLEGE CELEBRATES NEWLY PROMOTED TWO STAR GENERAL WITH HONOURS AND TRADITION

The Army War College (AWC) proudly gathered to honour Major General T C M G S T Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of the AWC and newly promoted ‘Two Star General’ in the Sri Lanka Army, received a formal Guard Turnout by the troops, on January 28, 2025 at AWC Buttala.

Upon his arrival, Major General Cooray received a warm welcome from Deputy Commandant Brigadier S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc. The troops showcased their respect and admiration through a ceremonial Guard Turnout, at the main entrance of the college. Major General Cooray posed for a group photograph with Officers and Other Ranks in front of the Main Auditorium, a memory cherished by all. Later, he planted a sapling on the auditorium premises to commemorate the occasion.

The day concluded with an Officers’ Tea party at the Officers’ Mess, where the Chief Guest was warmly greeted by all officers.
