STUDENT OFFICERS OF ARMY WAR COLLEGE PAID AN EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO THE SRI LANKA MILITARY ACADEMY

Student Officers of Senior Command Course (SCC 12), comprised of 36 senior officers who are presently undergoing training at the Army War College (AWC) Buttala made an educational visit to Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) Diyatalawa on 25 October 2024. The visit was organised as a part of course curriculum of the SCC in order to enhance and refresh the knowledge related to procedures and concept of key military drills of the Sri Lanka Army

At the main entrance of the SLMA, the Deputy Commandant Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc extended a hearty greeting to the visiting delegation. Then, the student officers of (SCC 12) were given an introduction on Ceremonial Drills followed by demonstrations on Street Line, Guard Turnout, Guard of Honour, Guard Mounting and Dismounting and Staff Parade at the academy premises and in the parade ground of the SLMA

A demonstration on Funeral Drill was conducted at the Fox hill Area that brought the end of the study visit. In appreciation of the generous support, visiting student officers of the AWC awarded a token of appreciation to the SLMA

During the Study Tour, the Student Offices had the opportunity to visit the Officer Cadets’ Mess and the Monument of the academy. The visiting Student Offices of SCC 12 were associated by the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor, Directing Staff of the Senior Command Course and a few officers of the administrative staff the AWC
