SENIOR COMMAND COURSE STUDENTS VISIT SRI LANKA SUGAR COMPANY (PVT) LTD, PELWATTA

Student Officers of Senior Command Course 12, currently undergoing training at the Army War College, Buttala, participated in an educational visit to the Sri Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Ltd, Pelwatta, on 26 December 2024. The visit was organized as a part of the course curriculum to enhance their understanding of industrial management, particularly focusing on human resource management to optimise the productivity with available resources.

The Student Officers were warmly welcomed by the management and staff of the Sri Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Ltd. The visit commenced with a comprehensive presentation, which provided sound knowledge on whole process of sugar production. The interactive session and presentation covered many important aspects such as sugar industry’s contribution to national economy and job generation. Moreover , the visiting delegation brought an idea of manufacturing and its process of production sequence of the industry.

Following the presentation, student officers had opportunity to visit factory premises while observing the various stages of sugar production. This hands on exposure allowed the Student Officers to gain practical insights into the intricate operations of the facility.

The visiting delegation comprised with overlooking Chief Instructor, faculty members, and the 36 Student Officers of Senior Command Course 12.

This visit not only deepened the participants' understanding of industrial operations and resource management but also strengthened the ties between the Army War College and Sri Lanka’s leading industrial entities.
