The Army War College Cricket Tournament, on the Third and Final trimester in 2024, was a thrilling event that showcased the talents and sportsmanship, camaraderie and event planning with a series of 12 matches played among 10 teams, concluded on 26th October 2024 at the college playground. The matches were scheduled in evenings allowing both players and spectators to actively participate without hampering their regular studies and duties
Ten teams, three from Senior Command Course 12 (SCC 12), six from Junior Command Course 31 (JCC 31), and one from Junior Staff Course 27 (JSC 27), showcased their cricketing prowess in the tournament
The Commandant of AWC, Major General HHKSS Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, graced the accession as the Chief Guest, and Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor including the faculty members and administrative staff were also present
JCC Syndicate 6 and JCC Syndicate 5 made it to the final tournament after the highly competitive semifinals. Major YMNSB Baddawala CES made an important contribution as JCC Syndicate 6 chose to bat after winning the toss and scored 113 runs. The chasing team only managed to score 83 runs, therefore guaranteeing JCC Syndicate 6's triumph. Following were the tournament highlights:
