ARMY WAR COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW STUDENT OFFICERS FOR THE 2025 FIRST TRIMESTER

The Army War College began its courses for the first trimester of 2025 with a significant opening session on 30 January 2025 marking the commencement of three pivotal training courses: Senior Command Course (SCC) 13, Junior Command Course (JCC) 32 and Junior Staff Course (JSC) 28. A total of 146 Student Officers enrolled, including one from Bangladesh, two from India and one from Zambia. To emphasize the importance of inter- services collaboration, two Officers from Sri Lanka Navy also enrolled in this trimester’s courses.

The SCC comprises 39 Student Officers while the JCC comprises 74 Student Officers, inclusive of Foreign Officers and the JSC rounds out the lineup with 33 officers.

In his opening address, Major General TCMGST Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commandant of the Army War College, emphasised the importance of these courses for the career progression of junior, middle grade and senior Officers. Also, he highlighted that Student Officers from the Bangladeshi, Indian and Zambian Armies would enrich the learning environment and foster valuable exchange among their Sri Lanka Army Counterparts.
