HISTORY
The OC Troops EME (KLN) was established on 30 July 2009 at Bharathipuram with 01 x Officer and 30 x Other Ranks (1x30), to carryout SLEME responsibilities within SFHQ (KLN) area. At present, 10 x 309 Officers and Other Ranks are serving in the battalion. The 7 Bn SLEME was raised On 23 December 2010, at Kokavil. A medium wksp and three field wksps were established to cater all the repair of vehs/eqpt which are being used by the units UC to SFHQ (KLN). Two EME service stations were also added to the battalion in Paranthan and Kokavil to carryout vehicle services within the SF (KLN) AOR.
Presently, a Med wksp, 3x Field wksps and a Svc station is existing to provide the repair, recovery and service support to the Army establishments in the 1 Corps.
VISION
To be the pioneer in providing effective EME support within the 1 Corps responsibility.
MISSION
To provide the repair, recovery and maintenance support for Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Optical and Biomedical Equipment and Armaments within 1 Corps formation.
ROLE
To ensure the operational fitness of all electrical, mechanical, electronic, optical & bio medical equipment of 1 Corps responsibility.
TASKS
- To carryout the repair, recovery and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, electronic, optical & bio medical eqpt of 1 Corps formation.
- Carryout the Administrative and logistics matters of offrs, ORs and Militarized Civilians in the 7 Bn SLEME.
- Servicing of vehicles in the 1 Corps responsibility.
