Brigadier PGCS Gallage RWP RSP officially assumed duties as the 20th Centre Commandant of Regimental Centre, The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment amidst religious rituals and military formalities at the Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Boyagane on 17 March 2026.
Upon his arrival at the premises, Brigadier Srinath Gallage was accorded with a Ceremonial Guard Turnout and paid tribute to the memory of the Fallen War Heroes monument and the PWV Recipients monument. Afterwards, the newly appointed Centre Commandant symbolically placed his signature on an official document to mark the assuming of duties, amidst religious observances at his office.
Leaving an indelible gesture, Brigadier Srinath Gallage planted a tree sapling at the Regimental Headquarter premises and posed for a group photograph with the Regimental Centre Staff adding much more memories to the day and then attended an all rank tea with officers and other ranks at the Men's Club.
Subsequently, setting out his scope of work and duties, Brigadier Srinath Gallage addressed troops serving in the Regimental Centre and urged them to work with commitment and high standards of discipline whilst highlighting the regimentation of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Having chaired a brief conference with key appointment holders of the Regimental Centre, the day's ceremony culminated with a fabulous lunch arranged at the Officers Mess.
