OFFICERS` TRAINING DAY FOR SECOND QUARTER OF 2024 CONDUCTED AT RHQ VIR

Under the patronage of the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Officers’ Training Day for the second quarter of the year 2024 was successfully held at the Regimental Centre, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 26 June 2024 with the participation of more than 100 officers.

Following the set programme, the day's proceedings commenced with drill training at the parade square of Regimental Centre. The day’s first lecture was conducted on the topic of "Lifestyle Modification" by Dr. Crishal Lakshitha of Provincial Department of Health Services NWP. The second session was a lecture on the topic of "Essential Guidance to Sri Lanka’s Traffic Rules as Citizens", conducted by Sub Inspector KAHS Amarasiri of Sri Lanka Police. Breaking the monotony of the day, participants got the opportunity to play their preferred sports during the evening recreational session.

In line with the Officers’ Training Day, another successful Diners Club session was held at “The Salute” Multifunctional Hall, Boyagane with the participation of officers serving in various military establishments including officers of VIR Battalions. As the guest speaker of the night, Mr. Prasantha Lal de Alwis, President’s Counsel conducted an informative and thought -provoking lecture on the topic “The Bridge between Military and People”. Officers took the opportunity to share their views with the audience and had an interactive session with the guest speaker.

The Centre Commandant of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Senior Officers and several other Officers also participated in this event.
