Under the direction of the Commander Security Force Central and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, a blissful ceremony was held at the temple premises of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment to enshrine omniscient Sacred Relics for the newly built Pagoda amidst religious observances on 18 January 2024.
The Golden Relic Casket includes Omniscient Sacred Relics of Supreme Gauthama Buddha gifted by Aththanapitiya Historical Buddhist Temple, which have been inherited and safeguarded for many generations, and the Sacred Relic Chamber encompasses worthy gems, gold and silver decorative artefacts.
After the exposition of Omniscient Sacred Relics for all personnel, the Relics were enshrined in the Pagoda by the Commander Security Force Central and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare at auspicious time amidst the blessing of pirith chanting.
The Council Members, Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, and Regimental Staff of the Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Commanding Officers of VIR Battalions, several Officers and Other Ranks also participated in this meritorious ceremony.
