A sum of one hundred thousand rupees was donated to Corporal Liyanaarachchi of 8 VIR in order to complete his partially constructed house, which was a dream for him under the extreme economic difficulties, by Madam Kumudu Manage, the President of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch, at a brief ceremony held at the Regimental Centre VIR on 17 February 2023.
The brainchild of this donation was Madam Kumudu Manage the President of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch and was carried out as a part of the programme initiated to uplift the living standards of the troops serving under VIR. VIR Seva Vanitha Branch Secretary Madam Nadeera Wijekoon and Vice-Secretary Madam Maduwanthi Gallage were also present at the ceremony.
