Under the patronage of Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage, Officers Training Day for the Fourth Quarter - 2022 was concluded with the participation of 220 officers at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre on 18 November 2022 as per the directions given by the Directorate of Training – Army Headquarters, while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.
According to the scheduled programme, the training day began with the morning physical training session at the Regimental Centre playground followed by drill training at the Regimental Centre parade ground. Day’s first lecture was conducted on the topic of “Sri Lanka Navy’s present day commitment in countering human smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal fishing” by the Command Operations Officer – Northwestern Naval Command, Commander MRIS Preethimal.
Second lecture was conducted on the topic of “Strength and Weapon Management Systems of Sri Lanka Army” by General Staff Officer II (Coordinating) - Directorate of Operations Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Major DPSS Karunarathne psc SLA and General Staff Officer II (Strength) - Directorate of Operations Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Major LWAMCP Lansakara psc SLSR.
As the day’s final lecture was conducted on the topic of “Introduction to paperless working environment through Computer Networking System and application system introduced for accounts in regiments and battalions of Sri Lanka Army” by Head of Software Managing and Engineering Wing - Directorate of Information Technology Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Major TDT Wijesinghe SLASC.
Regimental staff officers, officers serving in various establishments including VIR Battalions participated for these sessions.
