VIR PLAYERS BECOME 2ND RUNNERS-UP AT INTER REGIMENT NOVICES TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment emerged as 2nd Runners-up of the Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Novices Table Tennis Championship 2022 which was held from 26 to 28 September 2022, at Army indoor gymnasium, Panagoda.

Players from almost every Army regiment tested their skills and competed in the race for championship in the Championship. The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Table Tennis team under the supervision of 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment displayed a splendid performances amidst the roars and applauses of the spectators being able to secure the 2nd Runners-up. Lance Copral Dissanayaka of 4 VIR emerged as the Best Player of the Novices category.

Major General Chaminda Lamahewa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of this event. Deputy Centre Commandant Regimental Centre VIR Colonel Dammika Jayarathna and several other senior officers of VIR also participated for this event.
