A combined, Thalagala Sri Sriddhartha Foundation (Sri Lanka) together with Tan Ngak Buay & Kee Meng Lang Foundation Limited (Singapore), under the patronage of Shasanarakshaka Mandalaya in Kurunegala District, coordinated by The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment extended their hands of assistance to under-privileged low-income group of families in the Kurunegla district area targeting Ibbagamuwa, Kotavehera and Wariyapola AGA Divisions by providing dry ration packets, each valued of Rs.1500.00 to more than 1500 families on 19 August 2022.
Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage initiated and coordinated the project after realizing the need of the low-income communities in the area.
The government officials including Assistant Government Agents of Ibbagamuwa, Kotavehera and Wariyapola AGA Divions, clergy, the Center Commandant, senior officers and Other Ranks of VIR regimental centre participated for this distribution programme. This notable event was organized by adhering all the health guidelines stipulated by the government to prevent COVID - 19 outbreak.
