In current context Sri Lanka Army is being the main stakeholders and frontliners exclusively to assist national requirements as the prime responsive element for all kind of stakes, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment understands and works for the noble cause at all time.
According to a request made by the Divisional Sectretaty of Ibbagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Office, Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre provided transport facilities on 30 June 2022 to transport 100 tonnes of rice received as a humanitarian aid package from neighbouring India to assist mitigate shortages of food reserves.
These rice aids reached Kurunegala Railway Station Premises by a freight train on 30 June 2022. Afterwards, the stocks were loaded on location by VIR troops and then the cargo was transported to Ibbagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Office and its affilitated institutions by provided army vehicles belongs to Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre and co-located 130 Supply Squadron of Sri Lanka Army Service Corp.
Brigadier Prabath Kodituwakku, Centre Commandant and Lieutenant Colonel Sudeera Weerawickrama, Staff Officer I (Logistics) of Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre attended to supervise this humanitarian assistance.
