SENIOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS UNDER GO 2 DAYS WORKSHOP AT RHQ VIR

In accordance with the direction and supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage, a workshop for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of VIR was successfully conducted from 21 April 2022 to 22 April 2022 at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.

124 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from under command battalions and regimental staff participated for this two days workshop which imparted to enhance the knowledge on their duties and responsibilities. The commencement of the workshop embarked with the Opening Address by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Prabath Kodithuwakku on 21 April 2022.

Two reputed experienced individuals, Warrant Officer I KRA Senevirathna (Rtd) - SLE, former Academy Sergeant Major of Sri Lanka Military Academy (1996 to 2006) and a proud Ex-Archer, Warrant Officer I MG Munaweera (Rtd), the First Regimental Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (1988 to 1990) were invited as guest lecturers to conduct lectures which mainly focused on duties and responsibilities, regimental history, developing of attitudes and leadership qualities of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers. As the final showdown of the workshop curriculum, theoretical and practical sessions on mess etiquettes were underwent as a pre-readiness to the Mess Night which is to be held at Warrant Officers’ & Sergeants’ Mess on 30 April 2022.
