Captain Thusitha Basnayaka and Miss Newanka Dananjani tied nuptial knot at the Marino Beach Hotel, Kollupitiya on 26 October 2020. The glittering wedding was adorned with full military customs by adhering all the preventive measures for COVID-19 pandemic.
Captain B M T B Basanayaka enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 07 July 2011 as an Officer Cadet of the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyathalawa under Intake 77. He was commissioned on 28 December 2013 as a Second Lieutenant and posted to the 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. He has hold responsible appointments as a Platoon Commander, Company Commander and at present, he is performing duties as the Adjutant of the Battalion. His delightful wife Miss Newanka Dananjani was a proud product of Ferguson High School in Rathnapura. Newanka has completed LLB (Lon. Hon) and now is practicing as Attorney-at-Law. Further she is professionally qualified in Human Resources Management.
Brigadier Sisira Herath, the Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment graced this remarkable event as the Chief Guest. Senior Officers, Officers and invitees of bride and bridegroom attended for the event.
