LEADERSHIP AND POSITIVE ATTITUDES TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR THE GRADUATES - PHASE I TERMINATES AT A GRAND CEREMONY - REGIMENT TRAINING CENTRE, BOYAGANE, KURUNEGALA

The Leadership and Positive Attitude Training Programme - Phase I, held from 14 September to 03 October 2020 with the patronage of Colonel of the Regiment VIR, Brigadier Sisira Pilapitiya, has been terminated in a grand style at the Salute Multifunctional Hall, Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala.

The training imparted knowledge on leadership, social etiquettes, conflict resolution, parenting, first aid, civil law, Sri Lankan history, current affairs, psychology and counselling by qualified army staff in order to develop knowledge, skills and ethics of newly recruited graduates seeking job opportunities in the government sector. It ensures an effective contribution to the government service being set an example. 376 graduates belongs to 15 Divisional Secretary areas in Kurunegala join hand with Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment staff in training and they have proved that they will contribute to take the country forward. They acquired required knowledge and make their minds with what they need to do to identify the shortcomings of the present day system. Believing the training and practices of 21 days, it may have given real thoughts of developing their career in the government service.

This Closing Ceremony commenced to recognize the successfully completed graduates with the presence of Mr. R.M.R Rathnayaka, District Secretary/Government Agent of Kurunegala District as the Guest of Honour and the Chief Guest was Brigadier Sisira Herath, the Centre Commandant VIR. Upon the closing ceremony, graduates illustrated their skills in fine arts with the collaboration of military traditions under the guidance of training staff to make this event a success. The event management totally handled by the Graduate students, where they proved their leadership ability.

376 graduates and their close relatives, Deputy Centre Commandant, Commander 581 Brigade, Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre and Instructor Officers, lady instructors/other ranks of the training programme attended for the event.
