7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 543 Brigade of the 54 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni apprehended 48 kgs of Kerala Cannabis (Ganja) on intelligence given by 54 Division troops early this morning (26) around 3.30 am when the stock reached the Thawalpadu beach in Mannar.
Army, Navy and Air Force troops throwing their full-weight behind the government's all-out war against narcotics, drugs and smuggling of contraband have in the past few days recovered drugs, turmeric and other contraband from Mannar and elsewhere. Investigations are underway.
