The Vijayabahu Motocross - 2019, Organized by The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment in collaboration with Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association, Sri Lanka Motorcycle Riders Association was held at Vijayabahu Motocross circuit at Boyagane on 25 August 2019. The event was once again, absolute success, and all spectators enjoyed thrilling experiences during the Vijayabahu Motocross - 2019 while creating avenues for riders to demonstrate their talents.
Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army Major General S T D Liyanage WWV RWP VSV USP ndc psc was attended as the Chief Guest of the event and Major general M K D Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army was attended as Guest of Honour for the event. Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Commandant of Officer Career Development Centre Major General D M D C D Gunawardana RWP USP ndc psc warmly welcomed them.
Approximately 125 numbers of riders at various capacities competed the 13 events including foreign riders Takase Tanaka from Japan, Aphichai Rungjarern and Saharat Permpool from Thailand and Rugved Barguje from India. Commander of the Army’s Trophy was won by Madura Peiris of Sri Lanka air Force while Japanese rider Takase Tanaka won the Champion trophy being the fastest rider of the race. Kesara Godage became the Emerging Rider of the year and Vinushka Trimalsha Silva won the Longest Jump Trophy.
Event was live telecasted on Rupavahini and Facebook and more than 10000 spectators presented to witness the event.
